The language with the most words is English. Apparently, there are more than 1,000,000 words, and the language achieved that incredulous milestone on June 10, 2009 with the introduction of the term Web 2.0. Since there are new words created every hour and a half or so, that number will continue to grow, As far as unique words, there are around 250,000 of them. In reality, the average person uses about 20,000 words.

Just to give you an idea of some recent additions to the language, in June 2015, there were hundreds of words added, including "crowdfund," "autotune," "Blu-Ray," "Masshole," and "Javascript."
