There are a ton of pizza places in New York city so it is hard to say which one is the best overall but here are a few that are rated high that would be worth checking out:
1. Roberta's in Bushwick- This is one of the best places you can go. With its ourdoor tiki army tent and the talked about perfect radio of the crust to the sauce to the cheese, it is a great place to get some good pizza.
2. Totonno's in Brooklyn- This place has been around since 1924. They use coal-fired ovens and make a great, sweet, herbal tomato sauce with fresh mozzerella. Although they had a fire in 2009 and had to recover again from Hurricane Sandy, they have remodeled and are back in busy business.
3. Di Fara in Brooklyn- This place opened in 1964. They usually have a long wait but it will be worth it to try a piece of their basil sprikled pizza.
4. Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint- This place was started by a guy who used to make pizzas in his backyard. They have a woodburning stove and a lot of fun and silly sounding topping names.
