Parents are often provided with an option of homeschooling their child and it can be a difficult choice to make. Is it better to homeschool them or use the public education system instead? Here are the pros and cons of homeschooling to make the decision easier.

The parent has increased control over the curriculum and what is being taught to the student. This control enables them to guide what is being taught [1]

Both the student and parents have freedom with regards to their hours. Being restricted to school hours can be detrimental to the child's development as a person.

The student does not have enough social exposure to the world around them. With public education, social exposure is mandatory with team building exercises being a regular event.

Children will always be around the home and this can be difficult for parents who require time to themselves. There is minimal freedom in this regard and parenting truly becomes a 24/7 job [2].
