Did Bernie Sanders make the best showing? Did Hillary Clinton increase her lead? What do you think about the other three candidates and their performance? I'm looking for thoughts and opinions on the first Democratic debate of the 2016 election season. What do you think?

Early Internet and "flash" polls seemed to indicate that either Bernie Sanders won, or that it was a close tie. However, such quick polls are rarely able to be thorough and accurate, and the enthusiasm of Sander supporters skewed these.

Since it's now been a few days, a few polls have been conducted in more traditional and rigorous scientific fashion. Three such polls show Hillary Clinton claiming a solid win over Sanders in an average 2-to-1 fashion.

While this does temporarily provide a new narrative for Clinton after a summer of sinking poll numbers due to the email scandals and general trustworthiness issues, it doesn't lock up the nomination for her yet. Vice President Joe Biden is making moves that indicates he'll jump into the race, whether she stumbles or not. Also, Senator Sanders is doing well enough in two early states that he and Clinton might split the first four contests before Super Tuesday.
