Banners and flags are colorful and flowing, and they can serve as permanent fixtures for as long as necessary. The most beautiful of all decorations I've seen, however, were altar tables decorated with dried flowers, perfume jars, large wooden bowls, towels and water pitchers to represent the washing of feet.
Another favorite decoration of mine was the use of art easels with pictures of the Holy Land featuring characters from Bible stories. Other ideas for decoration of the church stage include old Bibles, woven baskets, tapestries and prayer shawls. Members assigned to this type of decorating are very gifted in telling a story or making scripture come alive!
