This was actually really hard for me to decide. At first, I thought that I would like to have lunch with Bear Grylls. The more I thought about what Bear Grylls eats, though, the more that seemed like a bad idea. I would definitely have to be able to pick the restaurant if I had lunch with him! :)
The person I would probably go for, though, is Alan Cumming. I first noticed him when he played Glitch in Tin Man. Later, watching him in the Good Wife, I loved his character Eli Gold. It wasn't until I started following him on Instagram, however, that I realized what a charming and funny person he is. I have never seen anyone say anything bad about him. He is one of those people who just exudes happiness and who lifts everyone around them up.
Some of his posts on Instagram are hilarious. I imagine that having lunch with him would be a lot of fun. Perhaps my favorite thing about him is how nice he is to his fans.
He has either won or been nominated for countless awards throughout his career. In 1998, he won a Tony Award for his performance in Cabaret. Perhaps most impressive, however, is the Vito Russo Award that he received in 2005 for his contributions toward eliminating homophobia. He is an avid promoter of LGBT rights and supports a number of different charities related to AIDS.
Along with being an amazing actor, he's also a fantastic singer. I keep waiting for his show, Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs, to come to my area so I can see him perform live. Here he is singing one of my favorite Billy Joel songs:
