I love doing fun things with my children at Easter! Our favorite is "smash eggs." This takes some work, but the kids look forward to it every year.
Take an egg and poke a few holes in the top using a pin. Carefully cut an opening with a pair of scissors. Empty out the egg. Repeat this process as many times as needed (it depends on how many eggs you are making).
Once the eggs are hollow, hard boil them. Allow them to cool and then have fun dying them with your kids. Once that is finished, stuff the eggs with surprises of your choice (We like Lego minifigures and small candy. If the object you want to give doesn't fit in the egg, put in a picture of it instead). Take a mini cupcake liner or tissue paper and glue it to the egg, so that you close up the opening. Your smash eggs are ready! Take the kids outside and allow them to throw, crumble and smash to their heart's content.
