Tinea cruris a.k.a. Jock itch is a fungal infection that affects the buttocks, inner thighs, groin areas. Jock itch is caused by fungi known as dermatophytes which grow on the warm and moist surfaces of the skin. A burning sensation, peeling of the skin, and itching are some of the main symptoms of this condition. Although the condition affects men and women alike, it is more common in individuals who sweat a lot. Here are some natural remedies that may help treat this skin condition effectively.

Tea tree oil contains natural antifungal properties. Itching and inflammation associated with jock itch can be treated with this home remedy. Pour a few drops of tea tree oil on a cotton ball. Gently rub it on the affected area. If you have sensitive skin, make sure you dilute the tea tree oil with vitamin E oil, coconut or any other vegetable oil before rubbing it.
Garlic is another natural remedy known for its antifungal properties. It will offer instant relief from inflammation and itching associated with jock itch. Blend 3 cloves of fresh garlic with a tablespoon of olive oil. Rub the paste on the affected area. Follow the remedy 2-3 times a day until the condition is healed.

Apple cider vinegar has acidic properties to kill the fungus. It can help stop the infection from spreading further. Mix two cups of water with 1/2 cup of ACV. Soak a clean washcloth in the mixture and apply it to the affected skin. Allow it to dry for 15-30 minutes and wash with clean water. Pat dry with a clean cloth.
