There are many health risks involved in getting rid of cockroaches using powerful insecticides. You may see instant results, but the long term negative health effects on your family are not worth the effort. On the other hand, natural methods may take a bit longer, but they are a healthier choice than using strong insecticides. Here are some effective ways to get rid of cockroaches without using harsh chemicals.

Sealing up the cracks and holes inside the pantry, between the countertops and the wall, and in the baseboards is an effective method of getting rid of roaches. You can make your own cockroach bait by mixing three parts boric acid with one part of powdered sugar. While the sugar lures the roaches, the boric acid will kill them. Sprinkle this mixture in places where you find roaches. Make sure you keep the mixture away from kids at all times. Neem oil is an effective insect deterrent. Put a tablespoon of neem oil in a spray bottle and fill it with water. Spary the solution in places where roaches gather. Repeat the process as required to get rid of cockroaches.

Once cockroaches make themselves at home in a house, it can be very difficult to kick them out. They can snack on your food, damage wallpaper, books, and electronics, and some species of cockroach also spread germs to humans. There are various methods you can use to get rid of roaches in your house. Using chemicals or insecticides is a common method but many people do not know that they can solve their roach problem by using natural methods. So how do you get rid of roaches without employing harmful insecticides or harsh chemicals?

Using a water trap

A cockroach-water trap is a jar with some water and lure in it. There will also be a funnel in the mouth of the jar. The whole trap will be placed directly in front of the roaches nest. That means as soon as they step out of their nest after smelling the lure/bait, they will immediately fall into the trap and they will be stuck there because of the funnel (entrance will be easy, but exiting will be hard). Eventually, they will drown.

Many people do not know that they can kill roaches with the help of coffee. Some people argue that the perk present in coffee kills the roaches while others say that the smell kill the roaches. Regardless, coffee is a decent remedy to get rid of roaches. You can mix coffee grinds in any organic palatable and in order to serve roaches place it, where you usually see roaches.
