Most of us avoid snacks between meals to maintain the desired weight and stay healthy in the process. But there are so many low-calorie snacks that can help you stay healthy as well as maintain your weight. A study published in Physiology & Behavior in 2007 reveals that a healthy mid-morning snack can help children concentrate better at school. Here are three healthy snacks that have less than 100 calories.

1/ Air-popped popcorn can keep you fuller without adding a lot of extra calories. One cup of air-popped popcorn (plain) contains only 30 calories. It is a great source of fiber and will help in your weight loss efforts. The snack contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, phosphorus, zinc, iron, magnesium, copper, and potassium.

2/ A cup of blueberries is another healthy snack that has only 83 calories. It is full of antioxidants and other nutrients. When you eat them frozen, you get a sweet, crunchy taste.

3/ Low-fat Greek yogurt is another healthy snack that contains only 100 calories in a 170-gram container. It is a protein -filled snack that has plenty of good bacteria to help in your digestion. Yogurt will help adjust the natural balance of gut bacteria which is essential for proper digestion. The snack contains calcium, folic acid, phosphorous, potassium, zinc, and vitamin B. It helps boost the immune system, lower bad cholesterol levels, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

I snack too much during the day. I've started to look for healthier options, however, because I know that its inevitable that I will get hungry. Here are my three favorite snacks that have less than 100 calories.

1. One Cup of Blueberries [1].

Let's face it, blueberries are a little expensive. However, they are packed with vitamin C, vitamin K and fiber. Plus, they are chock full of antioxidants as well. One cup of this fruit is about 85 calories.

2. Banana and Vanilla Smoothie [2]

I love smoothies, but some of my favorites have way too many calories. For a version that is under a hundred calories, throw a third of a banana and a fourth of a cup of vanilla Greek yogurt into a blender. Add a handful of ice, blend and enjoy!

3. Baked Apple [2]

I don't love regular apples. But, baked apples are incredibly delicious! Simply core a small apple and add a teaspoon of brown sugar and a little bit of cinnamon. Bake it and then enjoy a treat for under a hundred calories!
