How can I quit eating sugar?

0 votes
I would like to cut back on the amount of sugar that I eat. Every time I try, though, I always wind up slipping up because I get such strong cravings for sweets. Is there a way to make the process of cutting sugar out of my diet easier?

Sugar is found in various foods. It can start to take a toll on the body.

It is important to understand the process won't end in a day or two. This is going to be a lifelong change and one you will have to be patient with.

Experts state one of the best ways to quit is to reduce slowly. You want to cut back one item at a time. So, if you are eating two spoons of ice cream, you have to cut down to one and then move forward from there. Sure, you are still eating ice cream, but you are eating less. Over time, you will continue to make gradual changes to a point where you are not eating sugar at all [1].

Finding replacements is important. You can't take out sugar and then avoid eating anything else. You have to think about what can be used to replace the sugar. Find healthy foods you enjoy eating and add them in. There are many ways of eating foods that are healthy and taste good [2].
