Tongue blisters can be quite painful at times. It will not allow you to have your food in a comfortable way. A burning sensation can develop when you have hot food or hot drinks. In a situation like this, first aid is important before you go into any deeper treatment methods. If you experience uncontrollable pain, it is best that you consult a doctor immediately. Here are some effective remedies for blisters on your tongue.

Drink plenty of water to reduce the formation of blisters. Water will keep your tongue wet most of the time which will help reduce the pain associated with the condition. Gargling with salt water can reduce the development of bacteria in your tongue. This will help keep your mouth fresh and clean at all times. Consuming cold foods is another effective method of soothing the blisters on your tongue. A milk and honey solution soothes and increases circulation to the mouth. This will help heal the blisters faster.

There are quite a few remedies for the annoying and sometimes painful tongue blisters:

- Aloe Vera: The natural healing properties of this plant will ease the pain and size of a tongue blister. Simply stir one teaspoon of aloe vera gel into one tablespoon of water. Mix well and swish around your mouth three times each day. [1]

- Yogurt: Plain yogurt with live culture had anti-bacterial properties, one of the main contributors to tongue blisters. Be sure to eat at least one tablespoon three times every day for effectiveness. [1]

- Salt Water: The salt will reduce the intensity of the sore. Just stir 1/2 teaspoon of salt into 1/4 cup of warm water. Swish around your mouth three times daily until the sore is gone. [1]

- Hydrogen Peroxide: The antibacterial and disinfectant properties in it will kill the bacteria causing the tongue blisters. Mix the peroxide with equal parts water and use a cotton swab to apply it to the blister. Keep it there for two minutes and then rinse it out with warm water. [2]
