As with any travel, it's best to consider your interests before planning a trip.
Popular Irish destinations for first-time visitors interested in exploring the natural assets of Ireland include the majestic views of rolling hills and misty mountains seen at Killarney National Park in County Kerry and the striking beauty of Giant's Causeway, an amazing geological site with thousands of hexagonal basalt columns that dip into ocean at County Antrim in North Ireland. Or, if history is your thing, consider a visit to the World Heritage site of Boyne Palace in County Meath to see Celtic tombs older than the Pyramids of Egypt or Stonehenge. [2] If you like a more urban vacation, the city of Dublin is sure to please.
